Keep Dipping
Second Kings 5:14 tells us: "So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven times, as the man of God had instructed him. And his skin became as healthy as the skin of a young child's, and he was healed."
I have often wondered what Naaman was thinking after the first dip.
Did he immediately examine his hands? Did he search his arms for signs that something had changed? Did disappointment begin whispering, "This isn't working?" The Bible doesn't tell us. It simply tells us that he dipped again. Then again. Then again. One dip became two. Two became three. Three became four.
Can you imagine if Naaman had stopped after the sixth dip? He would have missed the miracle by one act of trusting God. Yet, Naaman was obedient to the invitation, and he kept dipping, fulfilling the instructions he received.
